Leading and coordinating the provision of support and advice to the Delegation on technical and contractual matters as well as engineering components of social development projects and formulating position or advisory memoranda for the Delegation.
Reviewing Organisation submissions (such as policies, strategic plans, funding plans, budgets, long-term cost plans, contractual principles, planning parameters, procurement matters, and contractual variations and claims) and recommending positions to the Delegation.
Monitoring activities of Organisation service providers and technical divisions (like Phase II and Development and Operations), project risks and performance, and advice on deviations, preventative measures, or remediation.
Compiling and delivering various reports, presentations, and briefing notes on project progress and associated issues and matters pertinent to Organisations’ royalties.
Monitoring and evaluating compliance with guiding principles and parameters stipulated in Organisations’ legal instruments, and advising on deviations, preventative measures, or remediation.
Reviewing royalty calculations, invoicing, payments, and water delivery schedules in conjunction with hydropower requirements and providing advice on annual royalty budgeting.
Diligently contributing and participating in all relevant committees including the Organisations Technical Sub-Committee and advising the Delegation on critical issues and solutions thereto.
Effective management of the Delegation’s engineering team including performance reviews as well as assessment and recommending the appointment of new or replacement staff.
BSc (Eng) or B Eng degree (both NQF 8 Level) in civil engineering and registered Professional Engineer with Engineering Council of South Africa or equivalent.
A master’s degree with project management as a specialization could be an added advantage.
10 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction supervision of large infrastructure projects in a multi-disciplinary and bulk water resources development environment.
Proven experience in project or contract management and at least 5 years of people management as well as good leadership, communication, and conflict management skills.
