You are responsible for developing and executing the sourcing strategy for your respective commodities (i.e IT) and ensuring delivery of the best procurement value and mitigation of supply risks.
You will establish a distinctive competency and understanding of the commodities and Tiger Brands’ business needs and continuously identify new procurement value opportunities in line with the Commodity Strategies.
You will deliver cost savings projects focused on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimization whilst ensuring a healthy relationship with suppliers and business.
You will also lead a team of sourcing specialists to support you in the execution of the strateg
Develop and implement approved commodity sourcing strategies in alignment with the overall long-term Category Strategy
Maintain supply risk registers and address key gaps ensuring that optimal cover positions are sustained through the commodity sourcing strategy
Collaborate with business and function stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify value opportunities for TCO optimization and define procurement cost savings projects
Conduct comprehensive supply market analyses to identify, validate and onboard suppliers (domestic and low-cost country sourcing)
Lead strategic sourcing projects and Tiger Brands RFX processes ensuring a facts-based negotiation approach to strengthen Tiger Brands position and generate best value
Lead supply management for the commodity (negotiations with commodity suppliers, supplier review, contracts) and ensure strong supplier relationships
Deliver commodity targets, report commodity performance (Savings, BEE, risk, plans, payment terms, supply service levels) and ensure compliance with Procurement’s policies and procedures – Compile procurement mandates and motivations for approval of contract awards to Exco level
Drive organizational procurement targets including the provision of management information, work procedures and tools to achieve financial and non-financial targets
Experience
Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in procurement – Strong contract management and negotiation skills
Industry – Extensive Experience in FMCG industry is strongly preferred
Knowledge of procurement best practices including sourcing strategies to support cost reduction programmes and different mechanisms for procurement
Knowledge of developing the BEE Scorecard and understanding of various sectoral charters especially the preferential procurement component
